Who is it for?
Following delivery of training to over a thousand people on Nature Therapy and Dementia Care we are now pleased to offer a unique certificated programme of nature therapy and dementia care,
This is a unique course for carers of people with dementia. This can be a family carer or a professional carer. No previous knowledge or experience is required just a genuine committment to improving the lives of those with dementia and their families. It is an initial week long course (Monday to Friday) which provides the knowledge and skills to help people with dementia combat the distressing effects of sensory deprivation that occurs as dementia progresses. This is achieved through using nature as a tool to understand and enhance their sensory experiences. It help communication continue long after words have become fragile. Our research has shown that nature therapy and dementia care can reduce levels of agitation and aggression in those with a dementia. At the same time it can significantly reduce compassion fatique and burn out in carers. These outcomes alone can reduce the known risks involved in hospitalisation and increased medication. This five module course will give you a Nature Therapy CIC certificate in Nature Therapy and Dementia Care. At the end of this course you will be able to work more effectively alongside family members to support them - and directly with those with a dementia using nature as a tool. Click on the link below to book your place. Once your place has been confirmed we will send you payment and cancellation details. The venue for the course is the beautiful setting of Brighstone on the Isle of Wight. This is a stunning location near the coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. |
