One of the most misunderstood creatures on this planet is the wolf. It has been the subject of fear and myth over the years. Hunted by mankind over hundreds of years to the point of extinction for some of its species, the wolf has become synonymous with survival.
The survival strategies of the wolf, even in the most inhospitable places on this planet, can teach us a lot about survival - and about being human.
How a wolf thinks, what strategies it uses, can mean life or death. It is no different for us. The most important tool we have as humans in a survival situation is our minds.
So, this week long course not only teaches you the basics of survival such as fire starting, making a shelter and creating clean water - it is also aimed at building your mental resilience.
Mental resilience is having confidence in your own abilities. When faced with a challenging situation those who are mentally resilient have enough self-belief to know they can find solutions. They are able to turn to other pack members to draw on their strengths, whilst others may turn to them to lead.
This course is specifically aimed at those aged 12 to 19 years. There are no overnight sleep outs and parents are welcome to attend, although we would encourage young people to come alone if possible. We are happy to arrange to meet before hand.
Please note this course is also run over a longer period with additional survival sessions and a visit to meet real wolves. See the section on Young People for more information
Dates, prices and leafet to be uploaded.
